San Joaquin County Small Claims Court

All San Joaquin small claims court cases are currently heard in the Stockton Courthouse.  As of March 11, 2008, parties must e-file their small claims court documents with the correct branch of the San Joaquin County Superior County.

Small Claims Advisor for San Joaquin County

The Small Claims Advisor may be consulted for your small claims case for assistance.  The Advisor can be reached at (209) 473-6463 between the hours of 12:00 and 5:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday.

Mediation for Small Claims Cases

San Joaquin County offers an alternative to having a small claims court case heard.  The mediation center of San Joaquin County can be reached at (209) 474-8794 to try and resolve the matter.  However, these services are not free.  Thus, we recommend, at least for this County, that you wait and have your case heard.

Stockton Courthouse

The Stockton Courthouse handles small claims court actions.  The courthouse is located in downtown Stockton at:

Small Claims court cases are heard in Department 17 (located on the first floor) and Department 24 (on the second floor).

Lodi Branch Small Claims Court

This is Department L-1.  Note: Department L-2 is now closed.  L-2 was previously located at 315 W. Elm Street, Lodi, CA.  Free parking is located across the street from the L-2 building.

The Lodi Branch does not currently handle small claims court actions.  These cases are heard at the Stockton Courthouse.

Manteca Branch Small Claims Court
