Kern County Small Claims Court

Kern County Small Claims Court has four divisions and eight different locations located throughout Kern County.  The divisions are Metropolitan, East Division, North Division, and South Division.

 Metropolitan Division

The Metropolitan Division serves the following area: Bakersfield, Edison, Glennville, Granite Station, Oildale, Woody, and outlying rural communities.  The small claims court cases are handled at the following location:

Night Court for small claims court cases is offered once a month at the Bakersfield courthouse located at:

Small Claims court begins at 5:15 p.m.  You must request the night court option from the small claims court clerk when you file your case.  Contact the clerk’s office for the specific date of your small claims court hearing.

Eastern Division

The Eastern Division is compromised of three branch courts, Mojave, Ridgecrest, and Kern River.  Each branch services select communities.

Mojave Branch Small Claims Court

The Mojave Branch serves the following communities: Bear Valley Springs, Boron, Caliente, California City, Edwards AFB, Fremont Valley, Garlock, Golden Hills, Keene, Mojave, North Edwards, Rosamond, Stallion Springs, Tehachapi, Twin Oaks, Willow Springs, and other outlying communities.  The Mojave Branch is located at:
